Novembers Dating Horror Story

A romantic picnic, a man opens champagne

As much as a bad date sucks, we feel it's important to share them so we all know that it does in fact happen to the best of us!So there I was waiting for this guy at the bar he'd chosen, he'd text me five minutes previously and said he was running 10 minutes late, which isn't a big deal, so I went in and got a drink to wait for him.

The bar was pretty busy as it was a Friday night, so it did feel a little awkward looking like the girl who had been stood up at a busy bar for a while. This guy eventually turned up 15 minutes late and rushed in looking all flustered while apologising.I have to be honest, it didn't start the date off on the best foot as it didn't really create a relaxed mood for us to get to know each other and you know what they say, first impressions tend to made in the first 30 seconds of meeting someone and well ...

His flustered and rushed manner automatically made me feel more awkward about the date.Anyway, the date went on and as we were talking this guy kind of kept looking everywhere but in my direction, I didn't feel as though I had any of his attention, he kind of seemed like he wanted to leave, so I decided to ask if we should move on to somewhere new ...

As we went to pay for the bill he then asked me how many drinks i'd had so he could make sure I'd paid for exactly what I had which was really awkward. I don't mind paying my way, but that seemed a bit excessive! This guy then walked in front of me at any given opportunity, there was no 'after you' kind of attitude, and let's be honest, chivalry isn't dead is it!

We went to another bar where this guy proceeded to slowly get drunk and even at one point became quite flirty with one of the girls behind the bar in front of my face, it was around this point I decided it was time for me to leave, I politely said I thought it was getting late so I thought it was time to head off at which point he said 'yeah good idea, so your place or mine?' - I was horrified! The fact he had shown up to the date already having the expectation that he would be taking me home. I understand that some people are out here looking for that, but why bother dating at all?!

I guess this is why Tinder is so useless to me!Needless to say I never saw or spoke to the guy again!A note from your matchmaker on this months dating horror story:These horror stories always amaze me, we always assume people just naturally know how to behave on a first date, but then I sit down with my clients and listen to their stories and can't help but feel surprised by things like this every time.I make sure my executive boutique matchmaking agency is always providing a high end service to all my clients, we're here to help you find a life partner, not just someone for a night.
